October 4th, Saturday, we are in Oregon traveling south on hwy 101. It has been raining steadily for two days. Sometimes it is a downpour and others a nice shower. The wind was gusting at 30 to 40 mph so it was hard at times to keep the motor home on the road. Still driving through hilly and curvy roads. We are in a park tonight and got set up just in time, it is pouring again. Stop at a viewing area and watch the waves from the Pacific Ocean hit the shore. There were a group of surfboarding guys getting ready to surf. I would like to have stayed longer and watch them but needed to get going to catch up with Bill. When it is rainy and windy like this I don't want too much distance between us so he can get a break with hot coffee and something to eat to keep up his strength. We have traveled over 10,000 miles and he amazes me with his stamina and strength. I have to give him an A+ and a gold star. On October 1st we spent time at Copalis Beach, Washington. We walked the beach and one time I stepped down and sunk so I got my feet in the water to wash them off, and it was COLD! Bill found two sand dollars so we are adding them to our memorabilia wall. Pictures below of our stay at Copalis Beach.
October 21st, since we have been traveling down the coast on hwy 1 there have been times that were a bit scary. On some of the hairpin curves they were so banked that the hitch on the motorhome scraped the road. In a couple of other places trying to stay on my side of the road I scraped the side of the motorhome. The roads are bumpy and narrow and the jeep bounces at times. Had dinner with Cindy and her husband Tom the other night and Tom is from around here. He told me about the road to Big Sur where at times you can look over the cliff. I am not looking forward to that at all. After that will be getting through Los Angeles. Everyone say a pray for me and wish me luck.
