This is Sunday, June 1st, we continued on hwy 1 and in the first part of Connecticut and have found out that Connecticut has hills. There are cyclists out and it is a very clean area. A couple of towns we traveled through were established in the 17th century, find it an enjoyable ride even with the up and down hills. Traveled about 74 miles today to the campground at Clinton Ct. It was a long day but enjoyable, yes I am tired. I am glad to get back to some hills again because it is a challenge.

This is Monday, June 2nd, we left Clinton Ct. on hwy 1 to hwy 156, the scenic route where we ended up staying the night at a campground off of hwy 166. This morning we left Niantic, Ct. and continuing on hwy 156 until we merged back to hwy 1 following the coastline riding into New London and entering in Mystic, Ct. Mystic, Ct. has a unique old downtown shops also has a river waterway with a shoreline walkway, Boardwalk, with shops and boat tours. This would be a stop to spend a little time.

Going up some hills here and one was hill I stopped to talk to a police officer to help me on some of mine directions to stay on the hwy to get across the river by the bridges. They have a University there and a nice little community. Wish I was able to see more of it but the rain made it a little more difficult that day. Preceded through hwy 1 and passed from R.I. into the state of Ma. We followed hwy 1 until we came to Mansfield taking hwy 106 to a campground. All day long it was rain.
